Data Analytics Student Association (DASA)

DASA is a student organization started from the BIA (Business Intelligence & Analytics) Certification from the University of Oklahoma. The focus is simple, data analytics, and the group is designed to be a resource and a place for students to learn new skills. The outline of the first semester included introductions to Machine Learning, Data Visualization, Data Literacy, and programming by bringing in guest speakers from various industries, leading a Python course, and hosting a programming competition.

I joined DASA as a core officer to aid in organizing the logistics and to represent as a leader in my University. My passion for the exploration of Data Visualization with my fellow students drove me to leave a meaningful impact.

Taking part in a brand new organization brought its challenges. We strategized fostering a community of young student professions in a post-COVID remote environment. Developing weekly and long-term plans for the organization pushed me knowing I only had one semester to build a legacy. I loved designing fliers, posting announcements, and leading weekly sessions.
